Psalm 91

God the protector from demonic foes

Veterans pray this Psalm often !

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,

2 Then you will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust."

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence;

4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

5 You will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day,

6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

8 You will only look with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the LORD your refuge, the Most High your dwelling place,

10 no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

12 On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread on the lion and the adder, the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name.

15 When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them and honor them.

16 With long life I will satisfy them, and show them my salvation.

Working for YOUR Health & a Happier Future

About

Here at St. Michael's Veteran's Support Center, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for our Veteran/Heroes, those who've made sacrifices for our freedom. Our decision making process is informed by needs of the Veteran and listening to you, the veteran for your ongoing needs. We shall strive to establish veteran relationships and produce a positive environment with all of our goals.

With the loss of VA benefits especially in some of the areas of mental health, St. Michael's will focus on the services no longer available. Come visit our facility at 2550 XXXX Street, Colorado Springs, CO 8090?. All veterans are invited to visit and give your input for the programming needs of veterans.

Some of our support services will take in a spiritual tone, with my being a Chaplain ... God Bless ...

Hope to see you soon,

Just a comment from Fr. Larry

Specifically, St. Michael's Veteran's Support Center intends to provide services to our veterans in the greater Colorado Springs area. First, the Veterans Administration is cutting services to our veterans, Second, the veteran suicide rate continues to sky rocket. Today the Veterans are being just left out there to fend for themselves until they just give up and tragically decide to end their own lives. I find that this is NOT acceptable as a veteran and a priest, and I cannot let this continue. So St. Michael’s will structure itself and set up spaces for therapeutic peer support meetings, provide individual, family, and spiritual counseling, plus. We will have a food bank for veterans and their families, we will address the homeless veteran issues, overall, this organization will be a union of the physical, mental, & spiritual needs in support of our Veterans.

We will add programs as the veterans explicitly indicate the unmet needs of the veteran and his/her families. This will be done with gathering of data via a computer program written specifically for this project and its programming needs. There will also be confidentiality to protect the privacy of the veterans and their families. We are also doing research so as to possibly add a program for acquiring transportation for needy vets so they can get to work and support themselves & their families. As a previous educator of sixteen years, I would hope to add an educational component to the programs offered as well. I am investigating an empty church building with over 13,000 sq. ft. with plenty of rooms for meetings and future programming. Time is crucial and I hope & pray to find enough resources to acquire the facility before it is sold to others. I have been working on our business plan, our by-laws, 501 c 3 status, and continuous reviewing of potential funding resources for this important new vocational direction in my journey to serve the Lord & our veterans; those who have served, "We the People".

We have a page on this site to donate to St. Michael's Veteran's Support Center. Please return to this site often to see as we update with additional content and hopefully soon, an opening date for these services to begin. Veterans are a family because of their commonalities. Please, Bless them with your support!
